This KitchenAid range hood lasted ONE WEEK. Seven days. That™™s it. It started rattling, then completely failed. Brand-new appliance. Brand-new installation. Immediate failure. KitchenAid sent out a technician who inspected it and said he would recommend a full replacement. That should have been the end of it. Instead, when I followed up, KitchenAid completely reversed course and said they would only repair it under warranty. Repair? On a product that didn™™t even survive its first week? That™™s not normal wear and tear ™" that™™s a factory defect. We had no choice but to schedule the repair. On the day of the appointment, they canceled without explanation. Just canceled. We had to rebook for another week out. We live in a high-rise building where a functioning hood isn™™t optional ™" it™™s necessary. So now we™™re stuck with a brand-new, broken appliance and zero urgency from a so-called premium brand. They won™™t replace a defective unit. They make you jump through hoops. They cancel appointments. And the customer just waits. This is not premium. This is corporate runaround and no accountability. If you value your time, your money, or basic functionality in your kitchen ™" do not buy this range hood. Completely unacceptable from start to finish.

We purchased this model due to the controls being on the front of the hood. It was a floor model and had a complete warranty with it!!!! It is nice looking, EASY to see the controls (vs. the under the hood versions) and the light is really bright and helpful while cooking. Would purchase this model again!!!!

I love the look of the range hood, but the nicest feature of the hood is the fan has several speeds and they are quiet. There are two lights and they are both bright. The only drawback is my contractor said dig was one of the hardest installs he™™d ever done, but once in, it looks and works great.

This hood vent works well, is simple, sleek and easy to clean. My only real complaint is that I clean the filters and vent regularly as I do lots of stovetop cooking, but these last few months the display still says ™clean grease filter™ after I™™ve cleaned and dried the filters. I™™m going to have to contact Kitchen Aid to figure out what else I need to do if it needs to be reset? Unfortunately the kitchen renovation pros who installed it must have accidentally thrown away my user guide for the vent hood.

Yes, this is not quiet on speeds past the first one. I was cooking burgers and had it on high. Turned it off. Ate dinner. Went to wash up and there was grease streaking down my backsplash from the back of the hood. Opened it up and there was grease everywhere! This is the first major time we™™ve used it. I read something about using it in cold temps ™" needs to run longer after cooking. Is that what happened here? Stained my white grout, although got most of it out.

This is a great hood, have it for 2 months now and it is great, it is very quiet (we usualy use it at second speed, it is very slick looking, great light, most importantly it does move the air out, Same foods we cook now we cooked before and you can "smell" the difference in the house. we replaced a OTR with the hood, just be aware of the extra little adjustments that are needed (our case at least but the installer took care of it)

I like the way this looks. Unfortunately that is all I can say because we haven™™t actually been able to connect it. Bought as part of a kitchen redo and our installer ha s a question about whether it™™s truly ™ductless™ since conversion kit seems to attach at top and not inside. Which would be manageable except that no one at Kitchenaid can tell me. Have spent 25 minutes on hold with a ™product specialist™ today who didn™™t know. She connected me to a post-sales specialist, which was actually another company entirely. They aren™™t taking any phone calls - their entire staff is in ™a training™ so you have to leave an email inquiry and wait for a response. I™™ve been a loyal customer for three sets of appliances now, but there is no support after the sale. Next time I™™ll stick with the Broan hood. Cost 20% or this one and they actually answer the phone.

The LED lights are a harsh, bright white light with just one setting. There is no option for a dimmer or night light setting. Very unpleasant to have on if you're not actively cooking. Also, believe the many reviews indicating this is incredibly difficult to install. Not worth it. We very much regret purchasing.

I special ordered this range hood a month ago. I ordered this unit because all my other appliances are KitchenAid and because I need a ductless range hood and wanted a quality one. The product specs indicated it's convertible. It arrived last week. The installer came yesterday. When he opened the box, there was no conversion kit. There was only a pamphlet with a third party from whom to purchase the kit. When he went on the website, the kit was unavailable. This product is not advertised as "conversion kit sold separately". You expect to find everything you need to install it in the box - especially at this price point!!! I was extremely disappointed and angry.

Blower wheel exploded two weeks out of warranty

Two weeks after the warranty expired on my range hood, the blower wheel exploded while cooking dinner last night and of course is now inoperable. I expected a thousand dollar range hood to last me more than 12 months, KitchenAid. I spent most of the day searching for a replacement blower wheel, but it appears I have to spend several hundred dollars to replace the entire blower assembly. It's very disappointing to see more than just me with this problem in the recent reviews. I suggest you look elsewhere for range hoods.

We are very unhappy with this range hood. Just a year after purchasing it, after only using it a handful of times, the fan blade came apart making terrible noise. To add insult to injury, the replacement motor was defective so we are waiting for a new part. We're hoping the next service call will be the last.

Horrible - even the kitchenaid logo is CROOKED!

We have had nothing but problems - the sheet metal underneath the range hood is lob sided and now sticks out like a sore thumb. A contracter came in and checked the level - it was completely off on the bottom part, making it look horrible with our backsplash. Not only that the Kitchenaid logo is crooked! Did this unit pass quality control? For 1200 i would expect it to be perfect!
