it's a nice refrigerator we like it the only thing that I think needs to be dealt with from a product standpoint is in my opinion it is noisy and it hums loud and it also emits almost like a vibration. One suggested Improvement would be the addition of a stop that limits the swing of the refrigerator door.

Nice fridge freezer combo, fits great in the kitchen space. Has ample shelving for organizing the products kept in the unit. Bright LED lighting and adjustable temp settings. Overall good product, not noisy.

Do not waste your money. We purchased this model through a small appliance store and had to order online. In a bind because our fridge suddenly stopped working. I thought this product would be more of a matte black as pictured, and for the price be of much higher quality. The black model is super shiny and looks cheap. A paper towel will scratch the surface. It came with scratch lines you could see immediately, does not clean up well, and will drive you absolutely crazy. A non-scratch sponge scratches it, paper towels scratch it, looking at it will scratch it. Is not worth the headache.

Just love new fridge...never had a side by side before & definitely wanted one...didn't want ice maker & had to fit in a small spot in wall...found all these needs with this Whirlpool ™--ï¸
Was definitely worth the search & wait...have had Kenmores in the past...& they lasted forever...not even sure they make anymore...but I'd still go with the Whirlpool....thanks for a great product ™--ï¸

I have had three of these units in the last 2 months. None of them will work with an ice maker. I researched it and learned that there's a faulty installation with the control board that needs to be corrected so that the ice maker can work. I gave up this last week and am purchasing an LG instead

I bought this fridge in September, waited 3 months for my preferred black model and am thrilled with the it.
Fridge has tons of room inside and there is nothing I would change.
Customer service was exemplary, all questions answered, follow up on expected time of delivery was available whenever I asked. Delivery went smoothly and the men were prompt, courteous and efficient.

It runs too much. Seems that it is running every time I go in the kitchen. Needs a stop on the wheels on it. You have to hold on to one door and pull on the other. Pain in the but. Needs an actual meet drawer.

When my old fridge broke down, I knew exactly what I wanted to replace it. After looking at several locations, I found exactly what I wanted at the brick. The salesman listen to what I asked for and found it online. It was promptly delivered by two gentlemen who were very helpful in removing my old one. A very good experience all around.

This is my first side-by-side and I like it.
There are a few minor problems. I wish the doors closed more automatically and that it came with an icemaker. I didn't realize until it was delivered that I had to order an icemaker separately.

We have all black appliances and had to special order this refrigerator. We don™™t like a in the door water and ice maker because of the mess on our ceramic black flooring. We may seem old school but without an ice maker we have more freezer space which we need. We also had this same model at our previous house had had very good luck with it and absolutely no problems with it! Thanks Whirlpool for still manufacturing this model and color.

It is very loud , my last refrigerator was a Maytag and wasn™™t near as loud and why isn™™t it 5 star for energy efficient?I would of had to remove a cabinet to get a taller one.

After a deadl bottom freezer, the a top freezer that I hit my head on the handle causing a permanent lump on my head, this fridge is perfect . Everything is eye level, visible due to clear shelves and not too deep.

I bought this appliance several months ago. I don™™t like limitedspace of the refrigerator and freezer. I prrchased another shelf and another door pocket shelf.
The owners manual says not use stainless steel cleaner. I Everything else Whirlpool says to use stainless steel cleaner.

Missing parts.. How can I know when no parts are listed as in number of shelves and racks that should be in it. I assume someone ripped me off along the way.
I had to order parts from Amazon because I found no place on Whirlpool website to order them I still need a rack for the freezer I can not find!

After much research on the types of black exteriors, I settled for this one. It is easy to wipe down to remove fingerprints, etc. The doors have deep, adjustable shelves which are handy. We like the fact that the interior light is on the top of the refrigerator rather than on the inside wall. The bulb is bright so that you can see everything at once. My only regret is that I couldn™™t get a wider model like this one in a similar depth. Kudos to the local Whirlpool service team who came quickly to fix the improperly installed (Best Buy) ice maker.

I bought it because it fit in the space that I had for a refrigerator in my kitchen. I'm a bit disappointed with a few things. First in the pictures it looked a little like what I had. When it got here it was not as good as the old one. No lunchmeat bin just under the top shelf in the fridge part.. The freezer lights are led and blind me when I open it. It only came with three wire shelves had places for 5 shelves and I need them. I used to be able to have a shelf for pork, beef, fish, veggies and the top one for odd things. Now they are all jumbled together. and one of the most annoying this is when I reach in and hit the light switch and lights go off or blink I jump and drop what I have in my hands.

I bought this fridge for my garage to gain more fridge space. Also it™™s black which matches alls my tool cabinets and seems to be working fine. I™™m hoping it gives me better performance than my whirlpool kitchen appliances. We have had to replace the kitchen stove for mother board problems and now we™™ve had problems with the motherboard on the new one. Thank god for extended warranty. Hopefully the third appliance lasts longer than our kitchen ones as now the fridge is making noises.

I was looking for a specific height for the refrigerator to fit inside the kitchen due to cabinet on top. We found this one and it turned out to be The worst refrigerator. After only two months of use, the refrigerator keeps turning on and off automatically. We noticed that when we unplug and plug the refrigerator back in it would kick start it to work again. But we have throw away so much food that has defrost on the freezer when this happened overnight. It's been very upsetting and costly process. We have a thermostat in the refrigerator and freezer at all times. Our family ended up getting food poisoning. We called the service repair, they told us that there was dust and dirt build up underneath like a year worth and causes the refrigerator to stop working. We cleaned it, but the refrigerator is brand new. The service repair kept asking us if it was used, it was brand new. We had only had it for little less than 2 months. Our last refrigerator lasted 15 years and this new one kept breaking down on us. It has just been frustrating. It was very expensive, it looks nice but I just wish it would work and do it's job.

Only positive is the black color with textured sides which fits my kitchen beautifully. This refrigerator has a very LOUD motor with a sometimes "chinking" sound until I hit the side. It replaces the Whirlpool installed in Dec that was defective with mainly an inconsistent temperature problem, causing frost in freezer, condensation in refrigerator, and much more. This one has only two bins in refrigerator, no humidity control. Refrigerator door swings too far open and hits my cabinet. All complaints of other buyers I now see in reviews online.

Our fridge was delivered several weeks ago. I didn't think I would like a black fridge. But I really do like the way it works with dark cherry wood cabinets. The shelving is well spaced and it has a fruit and a vegetable drawer. I do however miss the deli, meat and cheese drawer. I am using one of the spacious in door shelves for lunch meat and cheese and it seems to be good. Our new fridge however has a noticeable hum while running. We were hoping it was due to being a new system that had never been run it would quiet as it was broke in. But not quieter yet.

I bought this refrigerator, because the size fit the previous space for a GE refrigerator that lasted 21 years. However, your refrigerator does not have self-closing doors; the freezer and the refrigerator are smaller than the GE, the clear film is impossible to remove on the top of the doors; the fit of the freezer and refrigerator doors is uneven; and it came dented.

I purchased this fridge in January 2024 and absolutely loved it. It has a large amount of space, adjustable door, racks and adjustable shelving. The freezer compartment kept everything well organized, easy to see and offered plenty of room.
At the end of August 2024 the fridge and freezer stopped working. I called Whirlpool and initiated an appointment for repair service. The technician came on September 11. At this time, he said one of the joints from the manufacturer wasn™™t sealing properly and that the fridge had probably been slowly going for a while. So I asked him if this was just a part he could order and he replied, ™ No, I have to cut it out and solder a new piece.™ Who wants that on a new fridge? Not me. I was appalled but that was the route they were taking. So he said he had to order some parts which should be in the following week.
Two weeks later, not having heard back from the service technician I called Whirlpool again. I expressed frustration that they were cutting out and soldering what to me was a still a new fridge. I explained I hadn™™t heard back from the technician and it had been two weeks since he first came out. I expressed that I would prefer a new fridge, but that was brushed aside the customer service person said they would have the technician call me.
On October 2, the technician finally returned back to my house to fix the fridge. He had to disconnect the smoke alarm in my condo so he could cut out and solder the cooper pipe in the fridge. It took him about 2 1/2 hours after which he plugged it in and left. I swept up the mess and pushed the fridge back in place.
Now it is October 7. I have the fridge and the freezer on the coldest settings. My fridge has not gone below 41°F . The freezer has jumped from -5 to 17 and then back down. There is a hissing sort of sound accompanied by a high-pitched sort of squeal when you open and close the doors. The fridge makes the most annoying noise when it is running now. It did neither of these things previously.
Needless to say I still don™™t have food in it.
I called Whirlpool again. Apparently the technician hadn™™t submitted the service report so they didn™™t know what he had done. I told him that™™s fine. Get the report but you respect what he™™s done. The fridge is still not working so what are we going to do about that? The customer service rep said the technician is going to have to come back out and fix it. That™™s his job. I said I don™™t want that technician back, I want a new fridge. Needless to say that didn™™t get me anywhere. I ended conversation of pure frustration. Now here I sit, waiting for Whirlpool to get a service report from a technician and for the technician to call me back.
I initially had to throw out $1500 plus worth of food. I have missed two days of work for two service technician appointments. They don™™t give you advance notice of the timeframe they will come. They call sometime in the morning on the day, they™™re coming to let you know what time they will arrive. It appears another day off work will be in m near future as well. And most upsetting, is the fact that I™™ve not had any food in the house for over a month without a fridge or freezer.
I am beside myself with anger and frustration, and don™™t know whether to scream or cry at this point.
It may just be lemon of a fridge but when you have to start cutting out and soldering the copper pipes - you should replace the fridge.

Old fridge hadn™™t worked properly for many weeks. We were pre disposed towards Whirlpool anyway from past experiences over many decades. We are seniors. This model™™s fridge and freezer features are right size and fit our needs perfectly. Looks beautiful too.

I bought this refrigerator in July and it never cooled down enough to keep food cold. Stayed in the range of 40 to 43°. Because we live in a small town I had to find my own repair man and pay them to fix it which I was reimbursed by Visa gift cards. The refrigerator now runs at 40° on the coldest temperature. I would never buy this type of refrigerator again.

The experience purchasing this online instead of through a local appliance dealer was horrible. The company that delivers the appliance is called JB hunt. I was told they were qualified to install the optional ice maker that I ordered with the refrigerator. That was false. They had no clue how to do it. Second, they did not even know how to level the refrigerator. They were delivery people and that was it. So, the ice maker was not installed, and the refrigerator was not even leveled before they left. On top of those 2 problems the temperature control was faulty. To get the recommended temperature levels inside the freezer and the refrigerator they had to be set at the absolute maximum. That is not a good thing for a brand-new refrigerator. I used to buy all Whirlpool appliances. This experience has soured me on that approach and going into the future I will look into other brands.

I bought this refrigerator on April 19, this I was told was popular, seemed very nice at first, once the appliance was in my home, couldn't figure out how to stop it, from moving everytime you opened a door, so called service, they sent me a tech , just to tell me this does not lock, so I bought a door stopper, which seems to help.
But now 2 months later, somehow there is a crack on the bottom, so I called just to get told it's wear and tear and they can't do anything about it. This is 5th appliance by Whirlpool and this one does nothing for me, except disappointment. So I'm going to patch it up, and put something on the bottom to protect it and live with the dissatisfaction. When I do need a new appliance from now on will research a different company.
